90/10 Principle of Life. . .

Discover the 90/10 Principle of Life
By: Stephen Covey

It will change your life (at least the way you react to situations).

What is this principle?

10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react.

What does this mean? We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%.

The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%. How? By your reaction. You cannot control a red light. but you can control your reaction. Don't let people fool you; YOU can control how you react.

Let's use an example. You are eating breakfast with your family. Your daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what just happened. What happens next will be determined by how you react. You curse. You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the cup over. She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your spouse and criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school. She misses the bus. Your spouse must leave immediately for work. You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 40 miles an hour in a 30 mph speed limit.

After a 15-minute delay and throwing $60 traffic fine away, you arrive at school. Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye. After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase. Your day has started terrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse.

You look forward to coming home. When you arrive home, you find small wedge in your relationship with your spouse and daughter. Why? Because of how you reacted in the morning. Why did you have a bad day?

A) Did the coffee cause it?
B) Did your daughter cause it?
C) Did the policeman cause it?
D) Did you cause it?

The answer is "D". You had no control over what happened with the coffee. How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day.

Here is what could have and should have happened. Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say, "Its ok honey, you just need to be more careful next time". Grabbing a towel you rush upstairs. After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase, you come back down in time to look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minutes early and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on how good the day you are having.

Notice the difference? Two different scenarios. Both started the same. Both ended different. Why? Because of how you REACTED. You really do not have any control over 10% of what happens. The other 90% was determined by your reaction.

Here are some ways to apply the 90/10 principle. If someone says something negative about you, don't be a sponge. Let the attack roll off like water on glass. You don't have to let the negative comment affect you! React properly and it will not ruin your day. A wrong reaction could result in losing a friend, being fired, getting stressed out etc.

How do you react if someone cuts you off in traffic? Do you lose your temper? Pound on the steering wheel? A friend of mine had the steering wheel fall off. Do you curse? Does your blood pressure skyrocket? Do you try and bump them? WHO CARES if you arrive ten seconds later at work? Why let the cars ruin your drive? Remember the 90/10 principle, and do not worry about it.

You are told you lost your job. Why lose sleep and get irritated? It will work out. Use your worrying energy and time into finding another job. The plane is late; it is going to mangle your schedule for the day. Why take out pour frustration on the flight attendant? She has no control over what is going on. Use your time to study, get to know the other passenger. Why get stressed out? It will just make things worse.

Now you know the 90-10 principle. Apply it and you will be amazed at the results. You will lose nothing if you try it. The 90-10 principle is incredible. Very few know and apply this principle. The result? Millions of people are suffering from undeserved stress, trials, problems and heartache.

We all must understand and apply the 90/10 principle. It CAN change your life!!! Enjoy...

My Confession. . .

Faustina ay tinaguriang Apostle of the Divine Mercy.

We are inspired by Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.

“Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.” – Joshua 24:15 I know my dear brothers and sisters that now is the time to choose the Lord, because tomorrow may be too late.

The Summary of the Catholic Belief

1.      There is only one God, creator of heaven and earth, of all that is visible and invisible.

2.      In the one true God there are three persons: God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The plurality is only in regards to the Persons, each of whom possesses fully the one divine nature. This is a mystery called Holy Trinity.

3.      God the Son, the second Person of the Blessed Trinity, became man, being born, by the power of the Holy Spirit, of the Immaculate Virgin Mary. The name of the Son of God made man is Jesus Christ He is true God, and true Man.

4.      Jesus Christ became man in order to reveal God to man, to redeem Him from sin, and to enable Him to attain to His supernatural end, the Kingdom of Heaven.

5.      For this purpose of His incarnation Jesus taught man His gospel, suffered and died on the cross and then arose from the dead. He is instituted the sacraments to established the one true church, a society made of the baptized. It is one, holy, catholic and apostolic, indefectible and infallible. Its rulers are the Bishops, successors of the apostles, under the successor of St. Peter, the Bishop of Rome.

6.      Christ’s redemption and salvation come to man through God’s grace. Sanctifying or habitual grace is God’s supernatural presence in the soul. Thus our sins, original and personal, are forgiven; we are made holy, temples of the Holy Trinity, adoptive children of God and heirs to the Kingdom of Heaven. Through actual grace God illumines our minds, moves and strengthens our wills.

7.      The channels of God’s grace are principally the seven sacraments, which are sensible signs (words and acts) that signify and confer grace, and are administered by the Church.

I.                   BAPTISM makes us Christians and remits the original sin inherited from our first parents, and the personal sins we may have at the time.

II.                CONFIRMATION gives us the grace of the Holy Spirit to make us strong in the faith we received in Baptism.

III.             CONFESSION is for the remission of our sins committed after Baptism.

IV.             HOLY EUCHARIST is the offering to the father of the same victim of Calvary, Our Lord Jesus Christ, under the species of bread and wine. Whom we receive under the same species in Holy Communion.

V.                THE SACRAMENT OF THE SICK is for giving us spiritual strength in time of serious sickness and for restoring health to us should it be for our good.

VI.             HOLY ORDERS constitute the Bishops and other ministers of the Church, giving them the power and grace for the fulfillment of their duties.

VII.          MATRIMONY unites the baptized in lawful marriage, giving them the grace they need for their married state.

8.      Good works are also channels of God’s grace, particularly the works of charity and mercy, which are spiritual and corporal.

I.                   The Spiritual works of mercy are:

a.       To give counsel to the doubtful
b.      To instruct the ignorant
c.       To admonish sinners
d.      To comfort the afflicted
e.       To bear wrongs patiently
f.       To pray for the leaving and the dead
II.                The Corporal works of mercy are:

a.       To feed the hungry
b.      To give drinks to the thirsty
c.       To clothe the naked
d.      To shelter the needy
e.       To visit the sick
f.       To visit the imprisoned
g.      To bury the dead

9.      Those who follow the commandments of God and are sorry for their sins before they die are rewarded by God and received into the Kingdom of Heaven. And hell is the punishment for those who do not obey His commandments and die unrepentant of their sins.

10.  Sin is a free, voluntary and conscious violation of the commandments of God and those who with God’s authority rule over us.

11.  The commandments of God is Ten:

I.                   I am the Lord your God. You shall not have strange gods before me.
II.                You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
III.             Remember you keep holy the Lord’s Day.
IV.             Honor your Father and Mother.
V.                You shall not kill.
VI.             You shall not commit adultery.
VII.          You shall not steal.
VIII.       You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
IX.             You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife.
X.                You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.

12.  The principal commandments of the Church are five:

1.      To hear Mass and abstain from servile work on Sundays and days of obligation.
2.      To fast and abstain from meat on the days appointed.
3.      To confess at least once a year and to receive Holy Communion during prescribed time.
4.      To contribute to the support of the Church and of our pastors.
5.      To observe the marriage laws of the Church.

Nanay Lydia. . .

She is Nanay Lydia. . .

-Juan 19:28
